Natural Sciences’ Lea Nienhaus has won the 2025 Outstanding Early-Career Investigator Energy Lectureship Award from the American Chemical Society’s Energy and Fuels Division.

Nienhaus, a Norman Hackerman-Welch Investigator both in Chemistry and in Physics and Astronomy, joined Rice July 1. She is a fellow of the Rice Advanced Materials Institute and holds a joint appointment in Materials Science and NanoEngineering.

The award recognizes her “outstanding contributions to fundamental or engineering energy-related research and development in the area of solar energy conversion.” It will be presented at the ACS Spring Meeting in San Diego in March, where Nienhaus will also present an invited talk about her research.
